DGNB – German Sustainable Building Council
The German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose task is to develop and promote ways and solutions for sustainable planning, construction, and use of buildings.
At the heart of its work is the development and expansion of a certification system for sustainable buildings, as well as the issuance of certificates in the quality levels of Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The organization was founded in 2007 by 40 organizations from the construction and real estate sectors. According to its own information, the organization had approximately 1,050 members or member organizations as of February 2012.
Members include architects, engineers, construction companies and contractors, manufacturers of building products, investors, developers, owners, project managers, operators, utility companies, public sector members, NGOs, and representatives from science and testing institutions.

VdL – The German Paint and Printing Ink Association (Verband der deutschen Lack- und Druckfarbenindustrie e.V.)
The German Paint and Printing Ink Association (VdL), formerly known as the Association of the German Paint Industry until 2008, is the largest trade association for the paint industry in Germany. Since 2009, it has also represented the interests of the printing ink industry. Together, the sector generates a turnover of 6.8 billion euros and employs 25,000 people. The VdL primarily represents the interests of German paint, coatings, and printing ink manufacturers in politics and public life. The association’s tasks include providing technical support to its members on matters related to technical legislation, environmental and health protection, standardization, product liability, quality assurance, training, and fostering young talent.

Federal Association for Corrosion Protection (Bundesverband Korrosionsschutz e.V.)
The business field of the full member companies in the BVK includes corrosion protection for steel structures and constructions through organic coating systems. The DIN EN ISO 12944 series of standards provides the internationally recognized technical standard for this purpose. With around 100 locations and branches, the BVK member companies cover about 70% of the corrosion protection market. Associated members from the manufacturing industry complement the association’s industry expertise. Tariff jurisdiction of the painting and varnishing trade. Organizationally, the Federal Association for Corrosion Protection operates independently. From a tariff perspective, it falls under the painting and varnishing trade with the applicable framework and social security collective agreements. Paints, printing inks and artists’ colours in Europe
CEPE brings approximately 85% of this industry together in its membership. Together this represents a value of around 17 billion €. In total 120.000 people are directly employed in this industry. The people that apply the products of this industry are a multiple of this number.
Beyond Europe
Some aspects of our industry (e.g. transport and the labelling of products) require a global approach. For that reason CEPE is a member of the International Paint and Printing Ink Council (IPPIC).
